The purpose of a theme word is to help inspire, encourage and motivate me to live intentionally.
This is my first time to choose a theme word and scripture for my year.
I saw on FB women doing a “name your day” challenge. It is where you look at your day – good and bad – and choose a word to inspire you to get through that day.
I loved the idea and decided to choose one for my 2016. I also decided to pick a bible verse or two to go along with my inspirational word.
Focus on my marriage
Focus on my kids
Focus on my health
Focus on my ministry
Focus on my blog.
Focus. That is what I want my year to be all about.
I want to be intentional about my walk with God, being the wife and mom that I am called to be as a christian, be the homemaker I am suppose to be, take care of this body that God has given me and to be used by God in ministry and blogging.
My goal is to be focused without fear, procrastination and laziness.
Now I can’t leave out the Holy Scriptures when choosing to “Focus” my year, so I have also chosen a couple of Bible Verses to help keep me focused.
Philippians 4:8 is to remind me what God wants my thoughts to focus on. He calls me to think on good things and not dwell on the negative. Bad things will happen. Nothing has taken God by surprise. Allowing negative thinking to hold me hostage is not acceptable anymore. God is enough for me and He will be my refuge and provider.
Philippians 4:14 is to remind me where my strength, grace, hope and love comes from. On days when I may feel like giving up, this scripture will inspire me to stay focused and intentional.
It’s never too late to choose a word and bible verses for your year or even your day to help you live intentionally for Christ!
Dear Heavenly Father,
I’m excited that you have given me another year to seek after You. Thank You for being our King of kings and Lord of Lords. Your love is amazing. I ask that You would help me to always be focused on You. Help me to live intentionally by being the wife, mom, and woman You have created me to be. Help us all, Lord, to be mighty christian women for You. In Jesus’ Holy name I pray. Amen.
