The Bible is filled with many references to who Jesus is, His life, His role as God and man, and what He came to do. Let’s take the next 30 days to look over these names and titles of Jesus together. (click the image at the bottom for the PDF of the Names of Jesus)

“What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet.” Romeo & Juliet

Our names have such a huge part on our identity. Most parents go to great lengths to find just the right name for their babies. They pour over books, asks their friends and family and may even “google” the definitions or meanings of names that made their top 10 list.

My ex-husband and I went back and forth for weeks over the names we wanted for our children. In the end we compromised and our kids have lovely names.

Back in Biblical times, parents did the same mulling over the meanings of their child’s name. It had to have great meaning so it would impact, inspire and help direct their child’s life in a positive way.

The Bible tells us, in Isaiah 9:6, that a child was coming and gave us a glimpse into His identity.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6

During my quiet time with God lately, I hear echoed in my heart…Seek me, Know me.

Sisters, life is hard! But it’s a little easier if we do it together.

Together, Let’s know who Jesus is and seek His face every day. Let’s worship, by prayer and writing out scripture so we may be able to hide it in our hearts.

Learning scripture allows us to recall God’s truth so when bad times come, and they will come, we are ready and can call from memory Bible verses and truths to speak and preach to ourselves and those around us.

All My Hope Is In Jesus

The holiday season is a time of joy and excitement — except when it isn’t.

If you are in the midst of grief, loss, or depression, happiness is the last thing you feel. The rest of the world seems merry and bright, and you feel gray and blah.

Even if you aren’t in a season of sadness, just the thought of the upcoming stress can be enough to make the best of us feel overwhelmed.

You might find yourself thinking (or saying) things like:

“I’d rather just skip the whole holiday thing.”

“I wish I could just fast forward right through November and December.”

“Bah humbug.”

Friends, I’ve been there. I offer you hope. Click the image below.
