What is Jesus’ real name?

Yeshua. Jesus’ name in Hebrew was “Yeshua” which translates to English as Joshua.

The name “Jesus” is actually a Latinized form of the Greek name “Iēsous,” which in turn is the Greek form of the Hebrew name “Yeshua.”

So, while “Jesus” is the name most commonly used in English-speaking countries, it is not actually Jesus’ real name.

Interestingly, the name “Yeshua” actually means “salvation” or “deliverance,” which is fitting given that Jesus came to save humanity from their sin.

In the original Hebrew, the name “Yeshua” is spelled with the letters yod-shin-vav-ayin, which can also be transliterated as “Yehoshua.”

How many names of Jesus?

While my 30 Names Of Jesus printable is a short list, some say there are around 200 different names of Jesus in the Bible.

I did a little searching and found this answer on how many names/titles of Jesus are in the Bible.

Although the precise difference between a ‘name’ and a ‘title’ may be open to interpretation, 198 different names and titles of Jesus in the Bible are listed in Cruden’s Concordance, first published in 1737, and continuously in print ever since. – Wikipedia
