Powerful End of Year Prayer + 45 Prayer Points to End Well
End of the year prayer points are more than a list… they’re an altar.
A place to lay down what hurt, what didn’t happen, and what you’re still hoping for.
As this year closes, pause and remember: God’s fingerprints are all over your story.
Every detour, delay, and disappointment has been used to shape your heart for what’s ahead.
These prayer points will help you reflect, repent, and realign your life to His peace and purpose before the new year begins.
Why Pray at the End of the Year
The end of the year is sacred space — a divine pause between “what was” and “what will be.”
Before setting new goals, take time to:
- Reflect on God’s faithfulness
- Release what you can’t control
- Recommit your heart to follow Jesus into the new year
When we pray through our endings, we invite God to write new beginnings.

End Of Year Prayer
Dear God,
As we come to the end of this year, we thank You for all that You have done for us this year and all You will do for us and through us this coming year. Through it all You have been there for us. We ask that You continue to be with us in the coming year and help us to overcome whatever challenges we may face.
Be our strength, peace, joy and shield. We also ask that You bless those who are less fortunate than us. Provide all of our needs. We are grateful for all that you have given us and we look forward to a New Year seeking You and Your will for our lives.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Closing Thoughts: Ending the Year with Prayer
As this year comes to a close, take time to slow down and seek God’s presence before stepping into the next. End-of-the-year prayer points remind us that reflection is worship, surrender is strength, and gratitude is warfare against discouragement.
Don’t rush past what God wants to seal in your heart. Thank Him for what He’s done, release what still weighs heavy, and step into the new year anchored in His peace.
If this helped you, share it with a friend who’s walking through a hard season or preparing her heart for a fresh start.
Key takeaway: No matter how this year ends, it’s not over until you’ve talked to God about it.
