Surrendering to God When Life Is Hard
Surrendering to God when life is hard can feel impossible. Especially when your prayers go unanswered and your heart feels worn out.
But maybe peace doesn’t come from getting what you want… maybe it comes from finally letting go. If you’re tired of holding it all together, this is for you.
You can white knuckle your way through faith for only so long.
I know because I did it.
I called it “trusting God,” but what I was really doing was bargaining.
I was surrendering with strings attached.
“If You’ll fix this, I’ll follow.”
“If You’ll move faster, I’ll believe harder.”
“If You’ll just give me one good day, I’ll finally rest.”
Friend, I didn’t need stronger faith.
I needed softer hands.
I wasn’t praying. I was panicking.
I’d open my Bible, but my thoughts ran louder than the pages could quiet.
I’d say I trusted God, but deep down I believed the outcome depended on me.
If that’s where you are too, I wrote this for you.
Because I’ve learned that God doesn’t meet us in our performance.
He meets us in our pause.
In the stillness.
In the place where we finally say, “God, I can’t hold this anymore.”
You don’t need to hold it all together to be held by Him.
“Abide in Me, and I in you.” (John 15:4)
It’s not just a verse.
It’s a lifeline.
Abiding isn’t passive, it’s powerful.
It’s choosing to stay, to trust, to breathe… even when nothing around you makes sense.
But to abide, we have to unclench.
To surrender.
To lay down the illusion of control so we can finally rest in the arms of a God who never loses grip.
That’s why I created the Unclenched Scripture Writing Plan.
It’s not fluff.
It’s not a checklist.
It’s 30 days of slowing down, writing God’s Word by hand, and letting truth uproot the lies you’ve been living under.
It’s for the woman who feels too far gone.
Too tired.
Too overlooked.
Too disappointed in how things turned out.
It’s for the one who’s doing all the “right” things and still wondering, “Why hasn’t God shown up yet?”
You don’t need a miracle to believe again.
You just need a moment with Him.To trust Him even when you don’t understand it all.

✔️ Perfect for quiet mornings or chaotic lunch breaks
✔️ Pair it with coffee, tears, or both

Why Surrender Feels So Hard
Because surrender isn’t about giving up…it’s about giving over. And that feels terrifying when control has been your safety net, and trusting God hasn’t always turned out like you hoped.
What Abiding Really Looks Like
Abiding isn’t picture perfect mornings and peaceful playlists…it’s clinging to God when your world feels like it’s falling apart. It’s showing up heart first, not cleaned-up.
Letting Go of Control Isn’t Losing
Letting go isn’t giving up. It’s handing it back to the only One who was ever meant to carry it. Control feels safe, but it’s surrender that heals.
