10 Tips On Pursuing God Wholeheartedly
Are you wanting to know how to diligently seek God? At the core of Christian living is the requirement for us to be pursuing God wholeheartedly.
But, what does that look like for Christian women?
God wants us to put Him first above our kids, our marriage, our career, and other people. We can’t make it through this life without God!
When we actively are pursuing God first all other relationships fall into place a little better because we are guided by the Holy Spirit.
Let’s learn what it means to practically pursue God wholeheartedly!
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
James 4:8
Pursue God Meaning
To pursue God means to actively seek a closer relationship with Him through prayer, Bible study, and other spiritual disciplines. It is an intentional effort to draw nearer to God and to become more like Him.
God promises that if you approach him, he will approach you (James 4:8).
We are also told that God loved us first. (1 John 4:19)
We love and pursue God because He first loved and pursues us. As Christians, if we could fully grasp how deeply loved we are by our Heavenly Father!
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Pursuing God Bible Verses
God has pursued us and loved us first, and it is our blessed responsibility to pursue God with all of our hearts in return.
But I do see a few issues with Christian ladies. We either don’t actively seek God, we passively seek God, or we actively seek God but don’t know how.
The good news is that God is urging us to actively seek him out.
Use this scripture about pursuing God to help guide you.
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
We are promised that when we seek God first that He will provide for our needs. Food, drink, clothes, and shelter. Isn’t it comforting to know this?
Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11
A great reminder that we are called to seek God consistently.
I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently find me. Proverbs 8:17
I like what BibleRef says, “Wisdom, personified as a woman calling out to be heard (Proverbs 8:1–4), states: “I love those who love me.” In its ancient usage, the concept of “love” meant more than mere emotion. In fact, the primary meaning of “love” was in terms of preference in action. With that context, it’s easy to see how wisdom can “love” those who “love” wisdom. When we act according to godly wisdom—that which is true (Proverbs 8:6–9)—we are more likely to see good results (Proverbs 8:10–11, 18).”
You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. Jeremiah 29:13
We are promised here that when we seek God with all of our beings and are consistent no matter what that we will find God.
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. Matthew 7:7-8
What a beautiful note here! I pray we ask God to align our desire with His and that our perspective will be His so that we may pursue Him wholeheartedly.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
Do we trust God with our whole being? Do we rely too much on our understanding and desires?
We are told when we pursue God first in everything we do that He will guide us and make our path straight.

Getting out of bed each day prepared to seek God via prayer and bible study is what it means to seek Him. Pursuing God also means living aloud as an example of His truth and love.
God can be found if we seek him with all of our hearts.
In reality, as I stated before, the only reason we can seek God is that he has chosen to reveal himself to us first. He loved us first!
Knowing that we will discover God when we resolve to seek him with all of our hearts is such a great assurance.

Prayer To Pursue God Wholeheartedly
Abba Father,
I exalt You, Lord Jesus, and Your glorious name! So that my heart will always be filled with joy and praise for You, I want to be someone who seeks You always. I want to have a heart that seeks after You first in all things.
According to Your Word, if I look for You with all of my heart and soul, I shall find You. Please guide me to know what that looks like for me. Show me how to avoid getting sidetracked by things that are less than all that You are and interact with them instead!
To give You the maximum glory, I want to be at the center of whatever You want me to be and do in Your here-and-now kingdom. Change my perspective and teach me to glorify you in good times and hard times.
Please, Holy Spirit, give me the discernment to pursue God’s Kingdom and His righteousness first in all things. Everything I require in life should be insignificant in comparison to Your goodness, magnificence, and glory! Thank You for the assurance that You will supply what is lacking if I come to You first.
Teach me to love You completely, so that I could pursue You for the rest of my days on earth.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
