Benefits Of Reading The Bible

Speaking from personal experience of having gone through the fire, toxic marriage, divorce, single motherhood, poverty, etic, I can readily say that the benefits of reading the Bible are:

Peace – Every time the waves of grief and suffering threatened to over take me God’s word kept me. My situation didn’t get better per se, but my inner peace grew. God surrounded me with His peace in the midst of it all.

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

John 14:27

Wisdom – Why allow someone else to tell you what the bible says? Or what the character of God is? I want to know for myself! Not that God doesn’t put in our lives people that can help us better understand His word, but I believe we do ourselves a deep injustice when we don’t dive in to God’s word for ourselves to know who He is and what He is all about.

“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.”

James 3:17

These Bible Reading Plans, God’s Word, are the only thing that got me through. I can not tell you how many hours and days I spent crying, deeply broken, and trying to put the pieces of my life back together. And God’s word gently held me through some of the darkest of days I had to face.

Why Is Reading The Bible So Important?

In Romans we are told that we should be transformed by the renewing of our mind. How do we do that? By reading the Bible consistently and applying it to our lives.

God’s word changes us! It give us hope, strength, peace, wisdom, and a better understand of who we are in realtion to who Christ is and all He has done for us.

I share this huge list Bible reading plans with you as a reminder that you aren’t alone in the different struggles in life. I want to share what I learn, the bible passages that help me, as we walk through suffering and hard life trials.

We need Bible Reading Plans, God’s word, to help focus us and heal us from the inside out. As we study and reflect on the bible it reaches deep inside us to bring hope and healing to all of our broken and bruised pieces.

None of us are exempt from hard times in life! Not one.

Besides, the Bible tells us we should know our Heavenly Faither and how can we do that outside of reading His word and praying? In 1 John 4:6 we read, “We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.” Those who are truly saved will long to be taught what the Bible says by reading it daily, by listening to skilled teachers. They will long to know the Word of God.

Why Should I Read The Bible Everyday

“First and foremost, the Bible is essential for knowing God and His will for our lives. The book of Romans tells us there are certain things we can know about God from general revelation. Without Scripture, people can know about God’s power and divine nature by examining creation (Romans 1:20). They also know God’s law because it is written on their hearts (Romans 2:14–15).

However, there is a vast difference between knowing about God and personally knowing God. Everyone knows about God, which is why you are without excuse if you reject Him, but only a fraction personally know Him. The Bible is the foundational truth that teaches the history of the universe, the origin of sin, the reason for death, morality, and so on. Apart from God’s Word, mankind would never learn the all-important message of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Answers In Genesis

“If we lose motivation, we will not read the Bible. And if we don’t read the Bible, we miss everything God has for us through the word.”

John Piper

“Jesus said, “These things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves” (John 17:13). There is a fullness of joy that we will miss if we don’t continually listen to what Jesus speaks — that is, listen to the Bible. And I think that principle holds for the whole Bible, not just the words of Jesus in the Gospels.

Second, Jesus prays, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). The second thing we’re going to miss if we don’t feed on the truth of the word is sanctification. God has designed that we be made more holy, more sanctified by the truth. And then he says, “God, your word is truth.” – Desiring God

  1. That’s too bad that someone told you that you write too much about Bible reading plans and God. I think that no matter what you do, some may criticize. I hope that you will follow your heart and write about what God leads you to write and despite the criticism.

  2. You write about what God puts on your heart. I believe God works all things together for our good and if He chooses to allowing something in our lives that is painful He will definitely use that. We don’t go through anything in vain. Thank you for sharing and continuing to write what God puts on your heart! Be blessed in the battle sister!
