Benefits Of Reading The Bible

The hard truth about my life is I’m often judged and receive hurtful, yet well-meaning comments from others concerning my life and the decisions I’ve made.

It seems since people found out about my marriage spiraling out of control it opened the door to criticism and that felt so lonely.

If you didn’t know, I am a single mom of two kiddos. It wasn’t an easy decision at all. But, it was necessary. I do have biblical grounds for filing for the divorce. However, I tried so hard to keep the family together, I stayed when I should have left, I begged when I should have put up boundaries, and I lost myself instead of protecting myself. I prayed. I fasted. I walked on eggshells.

For a season I was confused and angry with God. Because I grew up thinking and was told often that God wouldn’t let him go too far, fast more, pray more, just believe and God will bring him back. God will bring His prodigal home. But that never happened.

This was not an easy decision at all. It wasn’t made in haste. I sought counseling and wisdom from others for years. But in the end, people are accountable to God for their decisions and there is nothing you can do. That is between them and God. You move forward and seek God for healing.

I was a stay at home mom, homeschooling mom, with no real income of my own. It was devasting and scary, but God saw me through. I have no idea how everything got paid but it did. Sometimes at the very last second or even a day late but it all was paid. We’ve not lacked for food and we have a roof over our heads.

These Bible Reading Plans, God’s Word, are the only thing that got me through. I can not tell you how many hours and days I spent crying, deeply broken, and trying to put the pieces of my life back together. And God’s word gently held me through some of the darkest of days I had to face.

Why Is Reading The Bible So Important?

I was recently told I write to much about Bible reading plans and God. That I should write about something else and move on to different topics.

I share all my Bible reading plans, Scripture writing plans, with you because I know you need them. You aren’t alone in the different struggles in life and I never want anyone to feel alone during hard times. I want to share what I learn as I walk through this process.

None of us are exempt from hard times in life! Not one.

So do not let anyone label you or shame you for your struggle. You do your best. Try hard. And leave the rest to God. Grab these free Bible reading plans, hold God’s word close to your heart, and ask God to guide you every step of the way.

Why Should I Read The Bible Everyday

“First and foremost, the Bible is essential for knowing God and His will for our lives. The book of Romans tells us there are certain things we can know about God from general revelation. Without Scripture, people can know about God’s power and divine nature by examining creation (Romans 1:20). They also know God’s law because it is written on their hearts (Romans 2:14–15).

However, there is a vast difference between knowing about God and personally knowing God. Everyone knows about God, which is why you are without excuse if you reject Him, but only a fraction personally know Him. The Bible is the foundational truth that teaches the history of the universe, the origin of sin, the reason for death, morality, and so on. Apart from God’s Word, mankind would never learn the all-important message of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” – Answers In Genesis

“If we lose motivation, we will not read the Bible. And if we don’t read the Bible, we miss everything God has for us through the word.”

John Piper

“Jesus said, “These things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves” (John 17:13). There is a fullness of joy that we will miss if we don’t continually listen to what Jesus speaks — that is, listen to the Bible. And I think that principle holds for the whole Bible, not just the words of Jesus in the Gospels.

Second, Jesus prays, “Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth” (John 17:17). The second thing we’re going to miss if we don’t feed on the truth of the word is sanctification. God has designed that we be made more holy, more sanctified by the truth. And then he says, “God, your word is truth.” – Desiring God

  1. That’s too bad that someone told you that you write too much about Bible reading plans and God. I think that no matter what you do, some may criticize. I hope that you will follow your heart and write about what God leads you to write and despite the criticism.

  2. You write about what God puts on your heart. I believe God works all things together for our good and if He chooses to allowing something in our lives that is painful He will definitely use that. We don’t go through anything in vain. Thank you for sharing and continuing to write what God puts on your heart! Be blessed in the battle sister!
