How do we know for sure that we are going to heaven? Use these salvation scriptures below to help guide your bible study on how to go to Heaven.
Strict adherence to a list of do’s and don’ts is not what Christian salvation is about. Romans 3:20 reads, “no one will be declared righteous in his God’s sight by observing the law.”
Have you been second guessing your salvation lately? Not sure if what you know about salvation is the truth? The Bible talks a lot about what salvation is and what true christians do and don’t do.
Let’s look at what the Bible say about salvation together.
I created a list of bible verses for us to go over for the next 30 days and the topic is Salvation! This isn’t an exhaustive list, there is more salvation scriptures I have not listed if you decide to dive in and do your own research and study on how to go to heaven.

Salvation In The Bible
Salvation from Wikipedia (from Latin: salvatio, from salva, ‘safe, saved’) is the state of being saved or protected from harm or a dire situation. In religion and theology, salvation generally refers to the deliverance of the soul from sin and its consequences. The academic study of salvation is called soteriology.
How do you know if you are really a Christian? Answer: You love God! Not some emotional superficial, isn’t-that-a-beautiful-sunset kind of love, but the kind that causes you to hate sin and obey His holy commands. You treasure His Son, Jesus above everything in this world. If you don’t love Him, treasure Him and obey Him then you are not a Christian.
The mark of a true Christian is love of and obedience to the Bible. This is the only way to ever find freedom from sin.“If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” – John 8:31-32
“Oh, how I love Your law!”- Psalm 119:97
“In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” – 1 John 4:10
It’s impossible to love God without knowing Him. It’s impossible to know Him unless you know the Bible.
Here is an example…salvation of the jailor.
“While in prison, about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, such that the foundations of the prison were shaken, and all the doors were opened, and everyone’s bonds were unfastened. When the jailer woke and saw that the prison doors were open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted with a loud voice, “Do not harm yourself, for we are all here.” And the jailer called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he fell before Paul and Silas. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of God to him and to all who were in his house. And he took Paul and Silas the same hour of the night and washed their wounds, and he was baptized at once, he and all his family. Then he brought them up into his house and gave them food. And he rejoiced along with his entire household that he had believed in God.” (Acts 16:25-34)
Who Will Enter Heaven?
“Because man’s sin separates him from God, he cannot go to heaven on his own merit. The Bible makes it clear that every person is inherently wicked, and will violate God’s law and will; “Surely there is not a righteous man on earth who does good and never sins” (Ecclesiastes 7:20).
God’s design was for man to be with Him, and for a period of time, He instituted sacrifices, where the blood of an animal was given as a substitute, atoning for sin. This system highlighted how wicked people were, as they continually had to offer sacrifices – it seemed like a never-ending cycle. They were not perfect sacrifices which perfectly and completely paid the debt for sin.” – BibleStudyTools
What Must I Do To Be Saved
“We are all infected with sin (Romans 3:23). We are born with sin (Psalm 51:5), and we all personally choose to sin (Ecclesiastes 7:20; 1 John 1:8). Sin is what makes us unsaved. Sin is what separates us from God. Sin is what has us on the path to eternal destruction.
“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved” (Acts 16:31). God has already done all of the work. All you must do is receive, in faith, the salvation God offers (Ephesians 2:8-9). Fully trust in Jesus alone as the payment for your sins. Believe in Him, and you will not perish (John 3:16). God is offering you salvation as a gift. All you have to do is accept it. Jesus is the way of salvation (John 14:6).” – GotQuestions
What Is The Prayer Of Salvation?
If you’re searching for forgiveness and for peace with God, you can walk through these steps and use the prayer below as a guide:
- Admit you are a sinner.
- Repent (turn away from sin and let go of past sin).
- Believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for you.
- Ask Jesus Christ into your heart and life.
How You Can Pray the Pray Of Salvation:
“Dear God, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.” – Via BillyGraham
