Why should we be praying the promises of God over our lives? Every one of us will face grief, heartbreak, and hard seasons in life. We must look to God and His word for guidance, help, and healing. Praying the Promises of God will help you get through the hard days. But how?
How Do I Pray To God
Prayer is talking to God. It is you taking the time to tell God your heart, the good and the bad, your gratitude, seeking forgiveness and guidance. It is like talking to a friend. You are sharing your thoughts, feelings, and asking Him to protect, heal, and guide you and your family. Read more HERE on How To Pray To God.
How Can I Stand on the Promises of God
God’s Promises bring me comfort when I trust in them. We have to let them settle deep into our hearts and minds – internalizing them and let them become part of us. We can’t just read them and commit them to head knowledge or they will not do us any good.
It’s not easy to trust God’s Word through job loss, heartbreak, or the death of a beloved family member. It’s not easy to trust in God’s promises when you can’t pay your bills or when you are wounded by someone you thought you could trust.
Yet, the Bible says all of God’s promises are yes and amen! God is trustworthy even on our hard days.
For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.2 Corinthians 1:20 NIV
How to Pray the Promises of God
We know praying with the Bible open, praying God’s word is important and will help us, but how do we do it?
How can you be sure of God’s promises? How can you know that what God promises is actually yours? Look to Jesus Christ. Put your faith and your trust in him, and everything God has ever promised will be “yes” for you!
The best prayer is from a humble and sincere heart. God already knows your joys and your scars, so why not be completely open and transparent with him? He is God! He can take your raw thoughts and feelings and is loving enough to promise to be near the brokenhearted (Psalms 34:18).
