My Earliest Memory of Prayer
What is your earliest memory of prayer? Was it your grandmother praying? Your mother? A sibling? At Church? My earliest memory of prayer is with my mom. I remember her praying every day in her room, usually with the door open.
My mom’s prayer space was the side of her bed and her nightstand. She had a well worn Bible, note cards or bits of paper with scripture and encouragement, and a tissue. She cried when she prayed.

As a child, I didn’t understand why my mom prayed so regularly. But now, as an adult, I understand that we can’t make it through just one day without prayer – and my mom lead by example.
Prayer is our source, our connection to God. Through prayer, and by reading the Bible, we can grow in our knowledge of God and our love for Him.
What Is Prayer?
Prayer is talking to God. It is you taking the time to tell Him your heart, the good and the bad, your gratitude, seeking forgiveness and guidance. It is like talking to a friend.
You are sharing your thoughts, and feelings and asking Him to protect, heal and guide you and your family.
I have a guide to prayer and discuss all things prayer in that article.
Prayer is asking God to change us to bring Him glory. We remember to stand in awe and respect Him as we pray, but also completely knowing we are praying to the One who loves us more than anyone else in the world.
