Daily Affirmations of God’s Love

A healing practice taught by some counselors and pastors is to speak Biblical affirmations to yourself. And I agree with them. I believe these christian words of affirmations, spoken daily, may help get what we know in our heads down into our hearts.

Who I Am in Christ Affirmations

For part of my own healing process I researched for scriptures on My Identity in Christ. You can find that by clicking HERE. I wrote out a scripture verse a day on who I am in Christ. Hand writing out scripture is a way of reflecting on God’s word and in this case I was reflecting on just who the Bible says I am.

Knowing who we are in Christ goes hand in hand with the knowledge of who He is. Knowing who Christ is, isvital to really knowing who we are.

We must believe that God loves us justly, perfectly and unconditionally. That He has a good plan of our lives. Yet in this understanding, we must also know that His good plan will come with storms. Hard times. Seasons of life I’d rather skip over, but they are a vital part of us living and growing in our relationship with God.

And in my stubbornness and selfishness, if the only way for me to stay at the feet of Jesus in all surrender is through the hard storms or hard times in life than my hearts prayer is, “Lord, bring the rain.”

Words of Affirmation for Women

I write to women in general here, but I guess these Biblical affirmations could be used for men and children as well.

You are loved! 1 John 4:19

He is love. It’s who He is. And although we could never earn it, He pours His love over us in abundance.

We must daily choose to put on God’s love. I also did a search on Bible verses of God’s love. It is a great resource to get your started in soaking up this love of God that we just can’t fully grasp.

I am a Child of God. 1 John 3:1

God knows everything about us. He created us before we took our first breath as a newborn infant. Psalm 139:13 & Jeremiah 1:5

He cares deeply for us.

And if you’re like me, you may struggle to fully grasp that to God you are worthy, enough, beautiful and loved. He wants you in His family so badly that He had His son die for you. That’s love.

I’m working on breaking the chains of negative self talk and this is how I’m doing it.

I am Rejoiced Over. Zephaniah 3:17

One of my favorite Bible verses is Zephaniah 3:17. It tells us that God sings over us and takes delight in us. There is something that touches my inner soul in knowing that my creator, the creator of the universe, the Holy God that every knee will and must bow to delights and sings over me. He loves us!

God’s Love Bible Verses

#1 God’s thoughts of you are so many, you can not put a number on them

How precious to me are your thoughts, God. How vast is the sum of them. Were I to count them, they would outnumber the grains of sand — when I awake, I am still with you.
Psalm 139:17-18

God – not your spouse, children, pastor – BUT God loves you and thinks about you all the time. All day long, everyday, even when you are sleeping, God thinks of you!

Please grasp this truth! The creator of this universe. The One that is in complete control. To Whom every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, thinks of you ALL the time.

#2 God Thinks Good Thoughts of You

For I know the plans I have for you, “declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11

God doesn’t go around thinking how badly you messed up or how you’ll never change. He thinks you are amazing and have great potential! His love is deep for you, my friend! He has good thoughts of you….all day long.

#3 God’s Love Gives Life

The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10

God’s love for you is so amazing that He offers not just life but a more abundant life! What does abundant life mean? It means to have a fullness of joy and strength in your mind, body and soul. God is a good God!

#4 God Will Never Leave You

When you pass through the water, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. Isaiah 43:2

Hard times are a part of real life. We all, at some point, will walk through a hard time in life. A death of a loved one, betrayal of a friend, an affair, financial problems, etc.  But even through the ugliest of days, God is still near and will not allow you to be overtaken by the difficult times. Nor does He love you any less. Yes, we must chose Him, but His love for us never sways.

#5 God’s Love for You is Personal

But now, this is what the Lord says – he who create you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” Isaiah 43:1

God calls you by name. He has your name written on the palm of His hand. (Isaiah 49:16) He can never forget you. He wants to restore and redeem you. He wants to overwhelm you with the full knowledge of how deeply and personally He loves you. (Ephesians 3:18)

It’s not enough to try on your own accord to stop the negative self talk sometimes. Daily declaring God’s written word to yourself is key!

Even if you must repeat these truths a million times a day until you finally get it. Never stop speaking God’s truth over your life.

You are loved!
