Everybody gets moody. Some days you’ll feel on top of the world and other days you’ll feel like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed. It’s okay to feel sad sometimes too. Here is a printable mood tracker to help you keep a record of your daily moods.
Your mood may be something that you’ve tried to achieve (such as peacefulness from listening to worship music) or something over which you feel you have no control (being deeply betrayed or expeierencing trauma). And it may last only a short while, or hang around longer than you want.
God wants us to guard our hearts and thoughts. We should strive to process through the healing in a way that honors Him. And that does not mean stuffing it all and pretending nothing happened.
Why Do People Track Their Mood
No matter what you’ve been through in life, and we all have scars, it’s good to keep a mood tracker to better know yourself and see how you are growing.
1. Triggers and warning signs. By using a mood tracker you can monitor the patterns in your life and identify negative influences (or “triggers”) that you need to process through and ask God to heal you and help you with.
2. Wellness strategies. A mood tracker can help you to find the small things, as well as the big, that help you to stay mentally well. It can show you the impact of the positive strategies and processes that you adopt on your mental well-being. Daily ask God to help you and guide you heal from anything you are struggling with.
3. Charting your mood allows you to see patterns in your life. When your mood changes, what else is going on in your life? Some women are especially sensitive to the mood changes that come before, during, or after menstruation. Other people have extreme moods that coincide with working night shifts or swing shifts. If you notice your mood on Saturday evening drops, it may be due to anxiety about heading to work on Monday. – Good Therapy
Keeping a mood tracker helps you see patterns that you may not remember otherwise. It’s good to be able to look back and see any patterns you should be aware of and take before the Lord.
How Does a Mood Tracker Work
How do you use a mood tracker?
Choose a color to represent different moods you experience. For example, yellow for happy, red for angry, blue for sad or whatever color combinations you choose. It’s your mood tracker, you get to choose what color represents each mood.
Print off my Mood Tracker below. Keep it in a folder or notebook or even better add it to my Coffee & Prayer Journal. Every day, during your prayer and bible reading time perhaps, evaluate your feelings. Where are your thoughts taking your mood? Bible Verses For Our Thoughts
Our thoughts play a huge part in our moods. Sometimes we have no control as to what thoughts enter our minds, however we are able to take control of these thoughts. God’s Word’s help us to recognize our thoughts for what they really are, and how to act (or not act) upon them. Use these Bible verses to help control your thoughts in a way God tells commands.
- Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2

Prayer for Emotional Healing
Pray this when you are needing emotional healing.
Heavenly Father, please heal my broken heart. Lord, heal me from the overwhelming negative thoughts and depression. You know me better than I know myself and I need Your healing touch. You know all I’ve been through and the emotional damage it has done. You know all about the emotional pain that I have been going through and Lord, I need you to come into my heart and to bind up the brokenness within me. Fill in the cracks and missing pieces with your love and peace. I feel that I have been battered and bruised emotionally. Give me wisdom to move forward in guarding my thoughts and processing through forgiveness. Oh Lord, I come to You to heal my wounded heart, I pray, heal the anguish that is deep inside. Get to the root of my emotional pain and heal me. Teach me how to process and heal from this. Teach me to pause and evaluate the truth in situations before allowing my emotions to get the better of me. Lord I put my heart in your healing hands. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen
Prayer for Healing from Depression
Pray this when you need healing from depression.
Father God, please heal me of mood swings, negative thoughts and depression. You are my Great Physician and I put my whole being in your capable hands. I pray to you my merciful and loving God, that you will take away my moodiness, sadness, depression and anxieties. Get to the root of these issues and heal them one by one. Help me, teach me to process things in a way that brings you honor and glory. Guide me and help me to respond to life circumstances in a healthy way. Help me to recognize and work through all negative thoughts in a way that brings truth and wholeness to my life. Restore my joy! In Your Great Name we pray, Christ Jesus, Amen.

If you are more aware of your moods, you may be able to better manage your lifestyle choices, make informed health decisions, prevent or avoid triggers of negative moods, and work towards a better quality of life. The trick is to watch for negative thoughts, changes in your mood, particularly any very high swings or very low dips (which may mean you need help to even out your emotional state). Self-monitoring is free and takes hardly any time. And it becomes easier as you make it part of your daily routine. – Better Health
