3. Find a godly mentor or accountability partner. Having someone to help us grow in our faith is so important. A mentor can encourage us, pray for us, and challenge us to grow.

5. Work on our own inner healing with God. Work on forgiving others, showing grace and setting healthy boundaries.
6. Be intentional about our growth. We need to be deliberate in our pursuit of growth. We need to set goals and make plans to reach those goals.

There are many unrealistic expectations that society has placed on women, especially those who identify as Christian.

For example, many expect a woman to be a perfect homemaker, an excellent cook, and an amazing hostess.

It is fine if this is your goal or something you strive for, but being an amazing homemaker doesn’t come naturally to every woman, and takes time to learn these skills.

If she wants to learn them at all. Some woman hate cooking! And that’s okay.

Others expect her to be well-versed in the Bible and be able to quote scripture at any given moment. While we all are on a journey to learn and grow in our knowledge of the Lord, we are not born with the bible memorized.

It takes time and that’s okay. As long as we are moving forward and growing in the Lord don’t let anyone judge you harshly for not meeting the expectations they have of you.

Additionally, she is expected to be a submissive and dutiful wife, as well as a mother who always puts her family first.

It’s great if women choose this role and want to work on bettering themselves as a wife and mom. It is an amazing role for women, but not all women want to be married and have kids. God’s perfect will is different for all women.

Everyone has a different walk with God and her path is between her and the Lord alone.

These expectations are not only unrealistic, but they are also unfair. For some women, God has called them to stay home and be a mom and take care of the family.

While other women God has called them to be out in the workforce or perhaps to have their own businesses.

Or maybe it is a mixture of both of these roles.

We all have different callings on our lives and that is perfectly okay.

While these topics are something Christian women may want to strive for it is unrealistic to expect perfection from all women in all of these areas. Skill building takes time and patience.

Remember that God does not expect perfection from you. He loves you just as you are and wants you to move forward and grow in Him.

Abba Father,

I come to You today with a humble heart, desiring to be the godly woman You have called me to be. I know that this is not something that I can achieve on my own, but with Your help, I am confident that I can become the woman You have called me to be.
