God Likes To Do New Things

God will do a new thing.  And I’m excited to see! Spring is just around the corner. Spring represents new things. New beginnings. New starts.

God likes to do new things too. He wants to do new things in us and for us. He loves us too much to leave us where we are at. He wants to make us new. He wants to restore us and heal us.

Have you ever gone to an antique shop to find a dingy looking copper serving dish? It’s old, stained and doesn’t shine anymore. However, in the right hands and with the right cleaner, that serving dish can be made new. It will shine and be a beautiful part of the serving collection.

We are like the old serving dish. We need to be cleaned, shined up and be made ready to serve again.

God will do a new thing

God Will Do A New Thing

Let’s take a look at Isaiah 43:19. Israel had sinned and rebelled against God. We are like Israel. We sin, rebel and have idols.

Anything that we put before God is an idol and sin. If I care more about getting my coffee every morning than I do getting time alone to pray and read my bible. Than coffee has become an idol in my life. As Christians, we must – on purpose – make time to seek God everyday.

Isaiah 43:19

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”

“See, I am doing a new thing!”: God is telling us to look at what He is doing. How many times do we look at what others are doing or where we fail or what the enemy wants us to focus on. We need to stay focused on Christ and what He is doing.

“Now it springs up”: It’s coming, this new thing from God, and it’s springing up. Like the new buds on a tree branch in the spring time. Beautiful, fragrant and new. We must keep watch for what is about to spring up from God.

“Do you not perceive it?”: Do we not see? Are we not understanding? God is the creator of us all. He wants to trade our sorrow and pain for joy and peace.

“I am making a way in the wilderness”: God is our guide. We cannot be guided by what’s going on around us. Nor can we be guided by our feelings. We must stand on the Word of God to guide us. He is the only way through the hard times. And He has a plan to see us through!

“I am making…streams in the wasteland”: What is your wasteland? We all have one. At some point, we are all like the dingy copper pot. We must forget the past, ask forgiveness of the sins and move forward in our relationship with Christ. He will make streams in our wasteland. The thing that would have been the end of us, God will use it for His good.

God Likes to Do New Things in Us

I feel so much joy in my soul as I meditate on this verse and share my thoughts with you. Be excited, Ladies! God has something new for you! He will put streams in your wasteland. He will make a way in that wilderness you are walking through. We must keep trusting and stepping out in faith.

Let’s keep our eyes on Jesus and what He is doing. We must guard our minds by keeping watch over our thoughts. Do not allow yourself or the enemy cloud your thinking with negative thoughts

Philippians 4:8 tells us to think on good things. Let’s renew our minds, daily, by reading and meditating on God’s word.

Praying for the Holy Spirit to guide us and convict us in all we do. All this, the new things that God is doing, it’s all for His glory.

Let’s praise Him while we wait on Him to move.

God will do a new thing. Is He laying anything on your heart? Is He asking you to focus on Him, trust in Him and step out in faith like never before? I’d love to know how God is doing a new thing in your life and walk with Him.

Blessings,

Starla
