It was a beautiful day. Sun was shining. Kids done with school work. We homeschool. I was getting some of the never ending pile of laundry done. I got to video chat with my husband earlier in the day. Life was good. All was well. Then I got a message from someone who turned my blue skies gray.
I cried out to God and asked Him for a moment of grace.
The heaviness that one person brought on me and the pain they brought into my life was such a burden.
I cried to God.
I cried hard.
We talked about the unfair events. I shared my heart, my pain and the events that came storming through my life like a tornado.
I prayed hard. Real hard. Which seems to be my life lately. I asked God for the grace to get through these hard days.
I can not make it on my own strength, but God gives me the strength I need.
Life can blind side us at times. In those moments, pray. It’s ok to ask God for the grace and strength to get us through. He is willing and waiting for you to reach out to Him for your strength. He loves you. He has an end to this battle. Do not give up. He will hold your hand and walk with you. He will be your refuge.
God gives His grace to those who humbly and diligently seek Him in prayer.
I am reminded of …
2 Corinthians 12:9
“And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.”
In my weakness, God supplied His perfect strength. Now, seeing how God is using this storm to bring me to a closer walk with Him and more confidence in who I am through Christ, I feel humbled because I know what I was before this-before I asked God for His grace.
My friends, when you look at yourself today and see your weakness and troubles, don’t get discouraged. Know that as you depend on God’s grace, He can and will supernaturally transform these weaknesses into strengths. When people look at you and see the transformation in your life, they will know that it is the Lord and He gets all the glory.
I need Him as my daily refuge. I can not make it on my own.
I need just a moment of grace.
