Many verses can provide comfort and hope to someone feeling depressed or even suicidal. Here are 10 Prayers For The Suicidal:
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
This verse was written for Israel, but we do know that God also wants to give us hope and a future through Him. This doesn’t mean we won’t go through hard times, but we can safely trust that God goes with us and that the Holy Spirit will guide us if we are seeking God regularly.

Dear God,
We hope in you because you are our good and faithful Father. You have great plans for us, to give us hope and a future. You are always with us, even when we don’t realize it, and you never give up on us.
We know that sometimes life is hard, very hard, and things don’t go the way we want them to, but we trust that you have a good and perfect plan for us. Even when we can’t see it, we know that you are working everything out for our good.

I remember on my hardest days when anxiety was high and the pain was deep, I cried to God on my knees in front of my couch. For days. I cried out to God.

We can have God’s peace even in hardship. I was confused about this concept for a long time until I was brought to my knees before God like never before.
I had to lean on God for everything. As I healed and set boundaries with myself and others this concept became more clear to me.

Abba Father, I need Your peace right now. My heart is troubled. The pain is deep. I’m not sure how to move forward. Please cover me right now in Your peace that passes all understanding. Send the Holy Spirit to guide me in my next steps. Help me to know deep inside me that no matter what happens or doesn’t happen I can rest in Your peace through it all. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Depression In The Bible
The Bible shares stories of people who were depressed. One of the most famous is King David, who was depressed after the death of his son.
There were some terrible moments in David’s life. David gives some clues in the Psalms that he often struggled with depression.
For example, “I am troubled, I am bowed down greatly; I go mourning all the day long. … I groan because of the turmoil of my heart” (Psalm 38:6, 8).
Other examples include Job, who was depressed after losing everything, and Elijah, who was depressed after being rejected by the people.
These stories show that even people who are close to God can be depressed.
It is important to remember that depression is a real illness and not something that can just be snapped out of.
