What Does The Bible Say About Having A Close Relationship With God
In my Bible study time this morning I looked at Mark 12:30. This is from the Seeking God First scripture writing and Bible study challenge.
The Bible is clear that God desires to have a close, personal relationship with each of us.
He wants us to come to Him with all our heart, mind, and soul (Deuteronomy 6:5).
When we do, He promises to be with us always, even when life gets tough (Joshua 1:9).
The Bible also tells us that we need to spend time getting to know God better. We do this by reading His Word, spending time in prayer, and seeking His guidance in our lives.
The more we get to know Him, the more we will love Him. And when we love Him, we will naturally want to spend more time with Him (1 John 4:19).

I pray for a closer relationship with You. I want to have a deeper hearts cry for You in my life. I want to be more like Jesus and have the fruit of the Spirit in my life. I know that I can’t do any of this on my own. I need Your help. I need Your strength. I need Your power. I need Your Spirit. I need You, God.
I thank You for drawing me closer to You. I thank You for giving me a desire to be more like Jesus, study Your word and pray faithfully. I thank You for Your Word and for Your Spirit. I thank You for Your love, mercy, and grace.
