What Does The Bible Say About Having A Close Relationship With God
In my Bible study time this morning I looked at Mark 12:30. This is from the Seeking God First scripture writing and Bible study challenge.
And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.โThis is the first commandment.
Mark 12:30 NKJV

The Bible is clear that God desires to have a close, personal relationship with each of us.
He wants us to come to Him with all our heart, mind, and soul (Deuteronomy 6:5).
When we do, He promises to be with us always, even when life gets tough (Joshua 1:9).
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Deuteronomy 6:5 NIV
The Bible also tells us that we need to spend time getting to know God better. We do this by reading His Word, spending time in prayer, and seeking His guidance in our lives.
The more we get to know Him, the more we will love Him. And when we love Him, we will naturally want to spend more time with Him (1 John 4:19).
We love because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19 NIV
