- Take time every day to do something you enjoy that relaxes your mind and body. I am serious about this! Schedule something every single day that brings you peace. For example, scripture writing or bible journaling. This could even be just sitting in your car enjoying your coffee in peace while your partner or friend watches your kids.
- Talk with friends or family members who make you feel good about yourself when you’re feeling down on yourself. Creating a safe bubble of friends and family around you can help so much when it comes to your mental health in motherhood. We need each other!
- Give up on perfectionism– it’s not going to happen so just let it be. Set realistic expectations for yourself and your family.
- Find a good therapist that you trust and can open up to about your feelings as a parent. You can love Jesus and have a therapist too.
- Don’t bottle up emotions– let them out! Whether that be a voice note on your phone, a journal, at the gym or screaming into your pillow. Let those emotions flow mama.
- Be mindful everyday.
